We have motivated the Kenyan Government
April '09 -
We keep hearing such good things from Migwani as illustrated in this letter from
Paul Kenya of Child Focus Africa....Jim:
"Hi Jim,
I spent most of the afternoon today with friends talking about CFA and went to
the various web articles on CFA, Friends of Kitui, newspaper articles on
Smithers (MCP) and ended up here...in my inbox. This project has evolved a lot
and better things are yet to come, i believe.
The government was challenged and opted to started another dormitory next to
ours...off course there are politics in it and govt wants to save face.. this is
good for the children and community. For us however, this means that some
children will be split to go to the other dormitory ( in terms of gender)....and
I cannot assure you that they will have similar facilities especially
electricity. this means ...Pat may have to think of wiring two dorms...but we
can look into this after. This is entirely up to you Pat.....I have not made any
promises to the school as they are not even discussing the dormitory yet which
is being build at an expedited process. however.. this means more space and in
future , this center may host children from the entire location.
