Grain for Migwani...

Just before we left for Migwani, we heard from Child Focus Africa that conditions had worsened due to this year's draught and that people were spending the few shillings they have to buy water instead of food. This was exacerbated by the fact that the draught has had the obvious effect on food production.

We did a quick scramble for donations and managed to come up for $225 at the last minute. When we arrived at Nairobi, Paul and his CFA friends took the money and purchased some bags of corn meal, rice and beans which we distributed (4 kg at a time) to some very grateful people in Migwani.

As with all the things we've done, we made it clear that the gifts were from caring people in Smithers, Nashville and Minneapolis. (not just Judy and I).
